Password History

Secrets Guard automatically keeps previous versions of a password whenever you update it. This prevents you from losing access if the password has not yet been updated on the service, or if a sync error occurred.

Viewing Password History

1. Open the record.
2. Next to the password field, click the 🕒 (Password History) button.
3. The window that opens shows a chronological list of all previous passwords for this record:
   • The date and time of the change.
   • The previous password value.
   • Its length and strength rating.

Restoring an Old Password

1. In the history window, select the password from the list.
2. Click “Copy” to copy the old password to the clipboard, or “Restore” to make it the current value on the record card again.
3. Save your changes.
