Frequently Asked Questions

1. What should I do if I forget my master password?

Caution

For security reasons, the master password is never stored in plain text anywhere and is never sent to the developers. If you have forgotten your master password and the hint does not help, it is impossible to regain access to that vault. We recommend always keeping a reliable physical record of your master password (on paper, in a safe place).

2. Where is the database file physically stored?

The database file is created at the path you chose on first launch (by default, in your Documents folder or in the app's folder). You can copy or move this file while the app is closed.

3. Can I keep the vault file in the cloud (Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive)?

Yes, this is safe, because the database file is encrypted with the strong AES-256 algorithm. However, we do not recommend opening the same database file on several computers at the same time, to avoid SQLite overwrite conflicts.

4. Is the clipboard cleared after I copy a password?

Yes. The app can automatically clear the clipboard a set number of seconds after you copy a password, so that other applications cannot intercept it.
