Password Generator

The built-in password generator creates cryptographically strong random passwords and passphrases.

Opening the Generator

• Option 1: Click the 🔑 “Password Generator” button on the main toolbar (or press Ctrl + G).
• Option 2: Click the key icon next to any password input box while creating or editing a record.

Generation Settings

The generator window offers the following options:

• Password length: A slider for adjusting the length (16 characters or more is recommended).
• Character set:
  • Uppercase letters (A-Z)
  • Lowercase letters (a-z)
  • Digits (0-9)
  • Special characters (!@#$%^&*()_+-=[]{}|;:,.<>?)
• Exclude look-alike characters: Leaves out ambiguous characters such as 0 (zero) and O (the letter O), l (lowercase L) and 1 (one), and I (uppercase i).
• Strength / entropy indicator: Rates how resistant the generated password is to brute-force attacks, in bits and on a color scale.

Using the Generated Password

• Click “Copy” to copy the password to the clipboard.
• Click “Apply” (if the generator was opened from a record field) to insert it into the form automatically.
