Manual Backup and Restore

You can create a backup manually at any time (for example, before reinstalling Windows or moving your data to another PC).

Creating a Backup Manually

1. In the menu, choose “File” -> “Create Backup...”.
2. Choose the target folder or an external USB drive and confirm the operation.
3. The app creates a copy of the encrypted database with the current date and time in the file name.

Restoring the Database from a Backup

1. Close the vault that is currently open (or start the app from the vault selection screen).
2. Choose “Restore from Backup” (or simply open the saved .sgdb / .bak file using the standard Open menu).
3. Enter the master password that was in use when this backup was created.
4. Check that the restored records are intact.
